Retrace the history of the rediscovery, dispersion and collecting interest of Crema ceiling panels from the second half of the nineteenth century until now means to project a well-known local reality in the wider, articulated and so far little investigated international context. At the same time, it means adding pieces for the reconstruction of a peculiar patrimony whose execution modalities deserve to be further investigated.

Ricostruire la storia della riscoperta, della dispersione e dell’interesse collezionistico per i soffitti lignei dipinti di Crema dalla seconda metà dell’Ottocento a oggi significa proiettare una realtà locale ben nota in un contesto internazionale più ampio, articolato e finora poco indagato. Allo stesso tempo, significa aggiungere ulteriori tasselli alla ricostruzione di un patrimonio peculiare, le cui modalità esecutive meritano di essere approfondite.
